    June 16th 2008

    The Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society will be taking part in the 2008 edition of the Tall Ships festival from June 26th to 29th. There will be static and radio remote controlled boats on display featuring beautiful hand-crafted ships, tug boats from the 12 inch "Thomas" to the larger 1 metre boats, sailing yachts, pleasure craft, and barges.

    Children will be encouraged to participate in the popular Paddle Boat races held every hour during  operating  hours, prizes will be given for  1st 2nd and 3rd places.

   You may even get a chance to operate one of the club's radio controlled boats. (The club regrets that it cannot allow children under the age of 16 to operate the radio controlled boats.)
    The VMSS booth and pond will be set up in the inner harbour adjacent to the Bounty.

Hello there. My name is Greg Abbott. I'm contacting you in regards to an event that a group of us are planning for September 13th at the Beacon Hill Park Bandshell. Earth dance is a global event (last year it was celebrated simultaneously in over 200 cities in over 30 countries) that celebrates global community, music and dance. The Victoria group is focussing to make an earth positive impact, with equal focus and energy being directed towards local community inclusion, family, youth and elders and creating opportunitites for future connections and events.

My current positon with this group is in community outreach, and in line with that I would like the chance to get input and feedback from your organization. Any assistance and/or information that you could provide us with to help make this a fun and positively memorable event would be greatly appreciated.

My thanks in advance;

Greg J. Abbott
